During the season of Harvest, we take time to thank God for the food we have and to reflect on the blessings we receive each day. As part of our Harvest celebrations, we support those in need by collecting donations for our local community centre.

During the season of Harvest, we take time to thank God for the food we have and to reflect on the blessings we receive each day. As part of our Harvest celebrations, we support those in need by collecting donations for our local community centre.
Our work during Harvest closely links to the Catholic Social Teaching principle of The Common Good, which reminds us that we are all responsible for caring for one another and ensuring that everyone has access to the resources they need to flourish. Through our Harvest activities, children learn the importance of generosity, compassion and putting their faith into action by helping members of our local and wider community.
From Seed to Table
From Seed to Table is our whole-school harvest project, which runs from Nursery through to Year 6. Through this exciting and engaging journey, children explore the big question:
"How does God's gift of creation become the food on our table?"
The project is carefully sequenced and progressive across the school, allowing children to build their knowledge and understanding year by year. Each class explores a different stage of the journey from seed to table, developing age-appropriate knowledge, skills and understanding as they move through the school.
Through their learning, children discover where food comes from, the people involved in producing it, and the importance of making responsible and ethical choices. The project encourages gratitude for God's gift of creation, an appreciation of those who help provide our food, and a commitment to caring for our world and supporting others.
Each class has a specific focus within the project, contributing to a shared whole-school understanding of the journey from seed to table. Please see the overview above to find out more about each class's area of learning.

Harvest Prayer Stations
To help children further appreciate and give thanks for all that God has given us, each class takes part in our Harvest Prayer Stations. Through prayer, reflection and discussion, the children explore the many gifts and blessings in their lives, learn about caring for God's creation, think about those in need, and consider how they can make a positive difference in the world. These prayer stations provide a meaningful opportunity for pupils to grow in faith, gratitude and compassion while living out Gospel values in their everyday lives.
